Summer ’21 Newsletter

Dear Moving Feast supporter,

We don’t know about you, but Lockdown 6 in Victoria felt particularly hard. We all seem to be so much wearier and exhausted than before. Some even seem broken. It seems that this wretched virus seeks out every crack in our systems, turning them into gaping holes. It snarls and scratches at us, feeding off the inequalities, deficiencies and failures in our system. In this way, it lays bare what we have collectively tolerated. Or even collectively enabled. The rebuilding and healing that a person or group can do after totally breaking can be life-changing – for the very process of breaking makes clear where and how we need to make changes and slowly heal. Leonard Cohen sings, “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in”. Right now, we have light pouring into the cracks.

Let us share where.
